Pase bien, Ecuador
Here we are. Almost ready to go. Our last two weeks have been complicated by a transit strike that has paralyzed the country. Groups of indigenous laborers have taken on the government in interest of fuel subsidies, limiting mining activity, and more funding for healthcare and education.
In this edition of Lo Que Pase, we each provide some sort of reflection of our time in Ecuador.

Sam tells it like it is in Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Locke’s got his top 5 in My Time In Ecuador
Robin sums it up in Time to Leave
We also wanted to share with you a couple of playlists that have become the soundtrack of our lives. They are on Spotify and hopefully are easy to access. Just keep clicking until you get there. All the musicians included are Ecuadorian or Ecuador based. The “A side” is energetic. Don’t miss Los Nin who rhyme in both Kichwa and Spanish or Clo Sismo, my favorite. On “Not the B side” you’ll find more mellow tunes that vary in genre. Enjoy!
Not the B side: Ecuadorian chill
This song is blasted from speakers atop the gas trucks as they circulate through the city. It took us a while to place the tune that we all found ourselves humming, but here it is. Te Quiero Cuenca. We had to include it.
